From our brewery in Baja,
we bring you CHIDA.

This hand-crafted Mexican Lager has the perfect balance of malt and hops for an easy drinking flavor and clean finish that will take you to the sunshine and palm trees of Mexico.

Our beer is crafted in the northern part of Mexico, where we drink Chelas rather than Cervezas. In fact our name - CHIDA - comes from the Norteno (Notherner) slang for “Cool” or “Great.”

The next time you are in Tecate, ask your bartender for a Chida Chela, and enjoy CHIDA beer.

ABOUT

The Jaguar

Our beer’s inspiration is a Melanistic Jaguar—black and spotted in color - these rare animals are found in Mexico and Central America.

Our Jaguar has great meaning in Aztec and Mayan culture – as a the spirit guide for Shamans on their journeys.

the beer

We have created a beer in a beautiful Mexican brewery run with the experience of a former Modelo brewer and the creativity of young craft brewers.

CHIDA is a light, drinkable beer, perfect for sunny beach days or backyard parties. With a lower alcohol content, and clean ingredients, CHIDA is a lager that won’t slow you down.

This delicious Mexican lager is made with simple ingredients, including fresh well water.

BIG CAT PRESERVATION

RT-horizontal-340pxW.png

The jaguar was, and remains, revered among the indigenous Americans who live closely with the jaguars. In the past 30 years, Rainforest Trust has become a recognized force in international tropical habitat conservation. Through their mission, among other efforts, they provide refuge and protections for 41% of all mammal species.

CHIDA CHELA recently partnered with Rainforest Trust to contribute to the Big Cat program, helping to preserve the Rainforests in Latin America, including the habitat of the melanistic jaguar, our proud symbol.
